At 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28, the world's
premier snow bike race, known as Flashpoint, returns to the McCall Golf Course
during the 50,000-person McCall Winter Carnival in Idaho.
Last year's event was a huge success, pulling in more than 1,200
spectators and about 30 competitors from across the Northwest and has become
one of the unique, signature events of the 47th annual McCall Winter Carnival.
Admission is $5 for adults and free to kids 12 and under. Practice and on-site
registration begins at 11 a.m., with racing starting at 2 p.m., right after the
famous Winter Carnival Opening Parade wraps up.
New this year will be free buses to help shuttle people from
the downtown McCall area after the parade, to the golf course and back, after
the event. In addition to snow bike classes, there will also be a kids mini
snowmobile snocross.
